TC Transcontinental Packaging introduced a 100 percent recyclable, multilayer barrier stand-up pouch. The flexible film bag for Harney & Sons loose tea hits all requirements: durability, seal strength, ready for in-store drop-off and EVOH barrier against gases and moisture. Fine tea requires a multilayer, co-extruded package to protect natural oils that give tea a smooth flavor. The company collaborated with Charter NEX Films and Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, which provided its RETAIN polymer modifiers that allow multilayer film to be fully recyclable.
